Spiritual Court Reading: An Introduction to your Spirit Guides.
The single most significant relationship you cultivate on your spiritual journey is that of your main spirit guide, sometimes known as your holy guardian angel, or your Joto. They are present from the moment you take your first breath and they are there the moment of your last one, ready to usher you to the other side; And in-between, they walk lock and step with you, nudging you daily towards fulfilling your purpose.
Just like people, our guides walk with us for a season, a reason, or a lifetime, which means your main guide plays usher to the spirits that come in and leave your life at different times. Each guide in your court has its own purpose in working with you, a unique personality, and best practices when approaching them individually.
These divine beings profoundly influence your thoughts, choices and ultimately your life.
An important step twoards building your spiritual independance, a Spiritual Court Reading covers:
- How each one helps you
- How best to work with each one
- Appearance, past professions
- What part of the world they come from
- Personality traits
- Divinities surround you
- Plus much more!
Delivered by two (2) separate mediums, myself and the gifted Frater Peverin (read more about him here) a Spiritual Court reading explores your court members and all the influces surrounding it. Offered online and in person.

Spiritual Court as Compass: How Your Guides Support Purpose, Healing, and Growth
When it comes to spirit working, one of the most practical types of readings that I offer is that of introducing or really re-introducing (because you have been working with them already) your spiritual court. Your Spiritual Court consists of hand selected spirit guides which are assigned to you at birth for the duration of this journey; tasked with the job of getting you to complete your purpose.
We often ask ourselves big questions like:
- What am I here to do?
- How do I heal from what’s come before?
- What’s the next right step?
These are soul-level inquiries—and they’re not meant to be answered alone. You walk with a spiritual court that holds keys to your clarity, protection, and power. Understanding who they are and how to work with them gives you a compass to navigate both the seen and unseen terrain of your life.
Let’s explore how your spiritual court supports your purpose, guides your healing, and grows alongside you.
What Is a Spiritual Court?
Your spiritual court is a team of benevolent spirit allies that walk with you across your life. They may include:
- Blood and spiritual ancestors
- Protective spirits or guardians
- Elevated teachers or soul guides
Some walk with you for life. Others step forward for a season or a specific chapter of your healing. Each member holds wisdom for your path—especially when you’re at a crossroads.
Each Member Plays a Role in Your Journey
Just like any circle of support in the physical world, your spiritual court is diverse in function and energy. Here are a few roles your court may include:
1. Healer Spirits
These guides support you through emotional, physical, and energetic healing. They may step forward during grief, trauma recovery, or health challenges. Healer spirits often work with plant allies, dream healing, or ancestral medicine.
2. Ancestral Teachers
These are ancestors who have elevated beyond personal or generational wounding. They guide with clarity and often teach you how to close cycles your lineage could not. They may offer insight into family patterns, cultural reconnection, or spiritual inheritance.
3. Warrior or Protector Spirits
These spirits defend your spiritual space, uphold boundaries, and help you walk bravely. You may feel their presence when doing difficult inner work, setting limits, or facing spiritual attacks. They are firm but loving allies.
4. Visionary or Creative Spirits
These guides amplify your intuitive gifts, dreams, and creative work. They support your soul’s purpose and help align your work with service. Many spiritual entrepreneurs, artists, and healers are working closely with these spirits—whether they realize it or not.
5. Gatekeepers
Gatekeepers regulate who and what has access to you. They help manage spiritual information, guide you toward safe practices, and filter energies. When your gatekeeper is active, things that aren’t for you will simply “not stick.”
Navigating Life Transitions With Your Court
Your Spiritual Court is always active in your life, guiding nudging and influencing you. Especially when it comes to major life shifts:
- Moving to a new city or country
- Ending or beginning relationships
- Starting new careers or spiritual paths
- Grieving deaths or identity losses
- Becoming a parent
In these moments, the court’s wisdom becomes a stabilizing force. You may experience:
- Sudden intuitive “downloads”
- Dreams that feel like instructions
- Strong nudges or delays that seem divinely timed
- Unexpected help or protection
Rather than stumbling through transition, your court can help you walk through thresholds with power, clarity, and ritual.
Using Your Court as a Compass
1. Regular Check In’s
Treat your spiritual court as an ongoing council. Just like you would check in with a mentor or coach, create space to meet with your court on an on-going, regular basis. You might ask:
- What energies are coming up for me?
- Where do I need to focus my healing?
- How can I align with my next right step?
Use candles, prayer, divination, or journaling to receive answers.
2. Offerings and Rituals
When you seek guidance, also offer gratitude. Simple offerings of water, flowers, or prayer go a long way. These acts strengthen trust and reciprocity in the relationship.
3. Ask for Strategy
Your guides won’t override your free will—but they will give you tools. Ask for help with specific choices. “Is this path aligned?” “What’s the timing for this move?” “Where am I missing a key piece of insight?”
Pull cards, enter meditation, or even sleep on it. The answers often rise when your mind softens. But the key here is specifically asking.
Healing With the Help of Your Court
Many people carry inherited pain, generational wounds, or lingering spiritual trauma. Your court supports healing in three key ways:
1. Holding Space for Grief
When grieving, you don’t need to “perform” your spirituality. Your court will simply hold you. You may feel their warmth, a sudden sense of calm, or subtle signs—like a breeze, scent, or whisper of reassurance.
2. Clearing Patterns
Some ancestors and guides specialize in identifying recurring family wounds: addiction, abandonment, silence, rage, illness. Your court may show you these patterns—not to shame you, but to free you.
3. Reclaiming Power
You may find guides within your court who help you call back power lost to trauma, toxic relationships, or cultural erasure. These spirits restore not only your sense of self but your right to belong, to speak, and to thrive.
Co-Creation and Manifestation
Your spiritual court can support your manifestations—not by doing the work for you, but by showing you where to focus, as long as its inline with your life purpose.
You might:
- Share your intentions aloud at your altar.
- Ask your guides to show you what needs to be released to receive more.
- Set monthly goals that are spiritually aligned.
Co-creation means walking with your court and your purpose, not ahead of them.
Awakening Your Spiritual Gifts
Many people notice their gifts intensify when they start working consciously with their court.
- You may receive more vivid dreams or sudden insights.
- You may feel called to mediumship, energy work, or divination.
- You may begin to hear or feel spirit more clearly.
Your court wants you to awaken—safely, steadily, and with integrity. They’re not just here to serve you. They’re here to initiate you into who you already are.
Living With Your Court, Not Just Visiting
Your relationship with your spiritual court isn’t meant to be reserved for crisis or ceremony only. You can walk with them in ordinary life—during your morning tea, a walk in the woods, or when washing dishes.
Start by asking:
- “Who’s with me today?”
- “What would you have me know?”
- “How can I honor you in my daily rhythm?”
Let their presence weave into your life—not as an escape from reality, but as a deeper way to live it.
You’re Not Alone
Your spiritual court isn’t something you “earn”—they’re already here. You’re not alone in your search for meaning, clarity, or healing. Your court is not behind you pushing, nor in front of you pulling. They walk beside you.
When you choose to walk consciously with them, everything changes—not overnight, but over time. Your court becomes not just a concept, but a relationship—a compass you can trust.
